Ithaca turkey slayer
I have the chance to purchase an Ithaca model 37 12 gauge turkey slayer, all hardwoods camo, unfired from a friend for 300 bucks. Sounds like an excellent deal. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on these? Your comments will be greatly appreciated?

Good price for the Ithaca. I've killed a few deer with one and was happy with it. The only birds I shot were pheasants, many years ago.
A very well made gun.0 -

I forgot to add that I have talked to guys with the newer guns and shot them at the range.
They shot as well as my 70s vintage gun, with the advantage of choke tubes.0 -
If it was made in King Ferry , NY near the end of manufacturing there it was not one of the best built 37's but still a decent buy. 0 -
That is an excellent buy! You need to snap it up, like right now, before it gets away from you!
