on first gen. Colt SAA it can double or 10X + the price if info states it was shipped in a shipment of ONE ,To a famous person. The letter if the gun is correct with matching parts YOU CAN TELL THAT YOURSELFthen the letter is money well spent. However if replacement parts such as what I think is your guns forearm. then a letter will not add much at all to value. 0 -

A Factory letter is always helpful .. In this case, it doesn't matter.. The auction has been placed, and the description listed.. Hopefully, anyone with that kind of money to spend will know what they're doing..

You are bidding on a Winchester Model 21 manufactured in 1947. This is a 20 Gauge Shotgun which definitely increases it's collector value. This SXS shotgun has been gently, but well used over the years. It's quite obvious that the original owner took very good care of it. I would rate the bluing at 80%. The wood is in very good condition as well and does not appear to have been refinished. I believe everything on the shotgun is original. The overall rating is somewhat subjective b/c it's obvious that it has been used over the years and not just stuck in a safe as a safe queen. The action is still nice and tight. There are no splits or cracks in apparent in the stock and it has some beautiful wood. The overall rating probably falls somewhere between 60% and 80%. The bores of both barrels are nice and shiny. We are starting our opening bid at the lower end of the scale/book value to give potential bidders a good place to start. It was available as an option on all model 21's, just like the pad. However the G2100b denotes a custom order. So apparently it was ordered with a checkered butt. Don't know if it will state it on the order sheet or not, but its available from Cody for a price. It would say deluxe on the bottom plate if it were a "Deluxe" grade. If it were anything special the wood would not be so plain. Maybe it was owned by Doc Holiday, So he should order the Letter!!!![:D]0 -
