When someone tells me he wants to sell a "USGI Ithaca .45", most of the time what he really has is a Filipino receiver that someone has put an Ithaca slide on (value $200-300).

What you should hope to get is an Ithaca receiver with a SN in the 856405-2660318 range, with the FJA inspectors markings immediately below the slide stop on the left side. Not a 100% guarantee that it is Ithaca, but at least it would be USGI. If so, hard to get burned at $500.
