Winchester 1882 25-20 Questions
There will be more to this when I finaly get the photos but I am in the process of helping a close friend "value" and possibly sell one of his old Winchesters. He has many and they are in, to me, exceptional shape.
Here is the one he is starting with;
Model 1882
Patent 1884
24" (he measured not me) Octogon barrel
25-20 Caliber
S/N 920698
Photos are being taken and I always have a DIFFICULT time posting them here so when I get them I would like to have a place to E-Mail them (like maybe to Bert H.) for his expert evaluation.
Right now year built and any special things I must provide to value this piece is what I am asking for. The receiver still has very good case color and the blueing also looks very good.
Thanks in advance for your help and interest!

Most likely 1892, and if so I would be most interested in it,
Twice as Mean[:D][:D]Not as Lean[:(!][:(!]But STILL A Mrine[}:)][}:)]

Thanks!
It's a 92, there is no 82. Tail of the 9 is probably closed up like this one?

Concur... it is a Model 92 (deeply stamped) that to the casual eye appears to be an "82". The serial number places the DOM in early 1921.
A 24-inch barrel was standard for the Sporting Rifle.
You can send the pictures to me at Win1885@msn.com0 -
Thank you Bert. I can see your point on the model markings. I will get the photos to you as soon as I receive them.
Thank you in advance.
