Can anyone i.d. this (I think) 19 NRA???
it looks like a Savage 19 NRA, but the only markings are 'RANGER 22 long rifle on the left side of bbl near receiver. under that a upsidedown 7 in a circle. Nothing under barrel either. 26" heavy bbl. looks like adjustable trigger. Peep sight. Large rubber peep marked Merit no2 light shield. side of sight shows a deer leeping thrugh a circle (or scope lens). Can't figure out what it is. No lug at bottom of 5 round mag. Peachy shooter, like a Winchester 52.
I have 6 photos if anyone would like to guess ???? Thanks

Its a Stevens Model 416. Used a 6 shot magazine.
Some were used a Military training rifles during WW2tose would be Marked US Property.0 -
Idon't think it's a 416, thats why I am asking the experts.
I believe the 416's were marked stevens ???0 -
My error, after seeing a pic of the 416 I believe you are right. Thanks 0 -
RANGER was a brand name used on rifles made by other makers such as SAVAGE and sold through SEARS. 0 -
THE M-19 NRA, M-23 (A,B,C,) ALL HAD THE BARREL AND RECEIVER MADE OF 1 PIECE OF STEEL (NO REBARRELING THESE). 0 -
Also, the deer in a circle is a trade mark used by Lyman on their sights. 0
