Para Ordnance 9mm carry or PDA

According to Para website the PDA has a match barrel and the 9mm carry has no mention of match barrel so I assume it does not have one. Anyone have any experience or thoughts on how much increase in accuracy a match barrel would provide in a 3 inch barrel pistol, if any?

I have read the magazine articles and sent an email to Para about this with no answer.

Any info highly appreciated,

  A 3" barrel gun, is by definition something intended for concealed carry and close range use, sort of like a snubnose revolver.
  
  While match-grade INTRINSIC accuracy (ie gun in a machine rest) certainly can't hurt, the fact is, even apart from the quality of the barrel, that platform isn't optimized to deliver it.
  
  The short sight radius, combat (not target) sights, non-match trigger, and your probable use of defensive (not match-quality) ammo together mean that even if the gun itself were pinpoint accurate, you'd have a devil of a time getting true match-level accuracy from the gun in the real world actually shooting it.
  
  More to the point, for a defensive gun, you just don't need that kind of accuracy. In a real defensive situation, you're probably not going to be taking a shot at a human target at 40 yards (that's generally called "murder", not "self-defense"). , nor are you going to have the ability to take your time, breathe, aim carefully, etc.
  
  So, in short, if you appreciate this gun for what it is (a handy portable self defense tool), then you shouldn't really care if its capable of 1.5" or 2.5" groups at 25 yards. . .that just doesn't matter.

  The company standards for Para barrels should produce barrels that will put all rounds within their established standard of deviation. That being said, the 3" barrel will be as accurate as you can hold it. I have won several lunches using a 2.5" Model 19 S&W against 4" and 6" service revolvers. There is plenty of accuracy built into the pistol, it's up to you to get it out.

  There is a big difference between a 2 1/2" fixed barrel, and a 3" tilting lock up barrel, and variables that can play into accuracy. So a 3" 1911 auto barrel is not the same as the next 1911 3" barrel.
  
  To the original poster. The two pistols you have asked about, are the same with the exception of a match grade barrel in the PDA, and a racy finish. They are both the Para LDA action. I would presume that the match barrel is the same internally, except for the chamber, but more attention is afforded in fitting the barrel cone, and the bushingless slide.
