Winchester Pre 64 Model 70 Question
Hello,
Is a Model 70 pre 64 300 H&H Magnum stock the same as another LA pre 64 gun say 30.06? I looked in both the books and couldn't find anything about it. Maybe I just didn't look close enough.
Thanks

the pre 64 guns have a collar which is wider and the stocks are inletted for it. there is a dovetail on the top for the front sight 0 -
I edited the post to include "pre 64" when referring to other LA stocks. 0 -
Morning Wittum.. There's no Long Action/Short Action when referring to pre-64's.... The actions are all the same length, from .22 Hornet to .458 Win.. The magazine boxes/spacer's were different for the calibers, but the stock inletting was the same.. The barrel channel would also be different, according to the bbl style.. 0 -
Check post entitled "Correct Stock for .300 H&H Pre-64 M-70?" dated 11/22/10. 0 -
To Wittum, I have 2 winchester late pre 64 stocks, one a featherweight which has a 3-5/8" mag cutout(30-06)plastic buttplate, and a standard barrel raised comb that has a 3-13/16" cutout and a win recoil pad I believe is for the 300 H&H mag 0
