Walther PPKS Biting
Can anyone tell me the fix to my PPKS "biting" me? I love shooting it, but the damn thing has sharp edges under the grip tongue (it's not the slide getting me, my hand is plenty low)and it actually cuts me after a few shots between the thumb and fore finger. Are there other types of grips I could get which would prevent this? Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried it even with military flight gloves on and it still wears me through those. Any advice is appreciated - thanks.

I put rubber Pachmayr grips on mine. They're very comfortable. 0 -
Because of the vast difference in peoples hands some people dont have any trouble at all with the PPKS grip design on the other hand "pun intended" your hand and mine must be very close to being the same. I have very skinny hands and a PPKS will draw Blood. I use a DREMEL to round the edges [V][:(]DRASTIC MEASURE . But then I found a better solution. I purchased a Remington model P51 this pistol is a joy to shoot and because it uses a locked breach system it has 1/2 the recoil and thinner then the PPKS .The Remington is .9 inches thick. I have carried a 380 for many years. But I shoot competitively with 1911 in 45ACP recoil does not normally bother me but I for one do not like the way a PPK or PPKS recoils in MY HAND . YMMV 0 -

I think you've answered your own question.
If there is a sharp area that irritates your hands when shooting, either file it down, cover it with something soft, or do both.
Both Hogue and Pachmayr make rubber wraparound grips that might help.
You might also just try one of those rubberized grip sleeves, for a cheap and potentially easy fix.0 -
Same thing with mine, a Interarms import. I carefully used a Dremel to tone down the edges, then worked with some 400 emory paper to finish the job. Smooth as a baby's arse now, and no more damage to my hand. BT 0 -
I don't know if you want to go this route but the newer S & W version has a longer tang to prevent biting. Just throwing it out there, may not be the thing to do if your current Walther is of the "something special" variety. 0
