marlin goose gun
Could anyone guess at the value of a Marlin Goose Gun, 3"magnum chamber, 36" barrel. Has a few minor scratches on the stock but otherwise in good condition. Thanks in advance for your reply.

i have never been to a meat shoot but would like to try it.knowing i have limited shooting experience a friend suggested i pick up a long barreled full choke gun.today i bought a 36in,full choke,bolt-action marlin model 55 goose gun.another friend tells me he these shotguns may not be allowed in meat shoots.i hope they are allowed as i feel like elmer fudd carrying this gun and have no other use for it aside from meat shoots.can anyone tell me the general rules regarding types
(if any)that cannot be used?0 -
Normally Meat/Turkey shoots are run by someone or some organization that SET their OWN rules. what may be legal at one shoot may not be allowed at the next one. It may be too late to do the research you should have done BEFORE you bought the GOOSE gun .But all may not be lost just visit a number of different places where they have matches and see what they allow .You might LUCK OUT Take more then one type of shotgun. 0 -
My local shoot allows that type and long as it is just a full choke,,not a "puckered model." (tighter than full) Any factory gun is ok here but as stated some allow anything,,,BTW, they do check with a choke gauge to be sure.good luck,, they are fun and meet people who also like firearms is not all bad/ 0 -
just to note: barrel lenght and choke have nothing to do with each other. a 18" barrel w/full choke can shoot just as 'tight' as a 36" full choke; and get more velocity as well 0 -
turkey matches are a serious crowd fellers will try anything,, barrels lengthed to 40+ inches...remember if the match involves them giving you the round to fire it is full of spreader/shot upsetting gimmicks 0 -
