Winchester 92 Date of Birth

My brother in law found a Winchester 92 in 25-20. The s/n is 9299xx, can anybody give me a date of birth for this gun? Thanks ahead of time!

  i don,t have BERT H,s book yet, but madis says 1924 and he has made alot of mistakes on the right dates to serial numbers. BERT should be along soon with the correct info. eastbank.

  The Polishing Room records held by the Cody Firearms Musuem end at serial 917240 (December 15th, 1920). The year 1920 began with serial number 881259, which means that at least 35,981 were made in that year. The serial number you have asked about was most likely manufactured in the year 1921, as it is just 12,660 serial numbers (or something very close to that figure) later than the last known number in 1920.
  
  On a slightly different subject, I very much destest questions with partial serial numbers... in the future, please post the entire serial number.
