AK-47 75-round drum malfunction
I just bought a 75 round drum magazine for my WASR and I think I might have over-wound it. . .a piece of metal started rattling around in after I wound it up. The piece that popped out looks like some sort of screw. The darn spring in it keeps "resetting" itself after one or two turns but the tension on it is brand-new.
So my question is can it be fixed or am I screwed?
Can drum mags be taken apart or are they completely self-contained? If they can't be taken apart. . .I'm probably SOL.

OK, I took a flashlight to it and figured out where the "screw head" popped out from but unless I can take the thing apart, I'm definitely outta luck.

If memory serves me correctly the romanian drum is self contained. However, it is afterall a piece of machinery and "could be" cut open/dismantled and repaired. If it were mine I would attemp it especially when there is nothing to lose. I'm not adviseing the attemp unless you have some machining and tool experience. All the best! 0 -

To be honest I don't have any machining skills of any kind but I do have some good news and bad news at the same time.
The good news is I finally figured out how to take the darn thing apart. . .took me two hours to do it and it was embarrassingly simple, but I did it nonetheless.
The bad news. There's two parts in it I accidentally busted up. A part that connects the spring to the wind-up thingee, and the screw that anchors the spring to the drum itself when it's being wound up.
At least now I've figured out whats wrong with it. Looks like I'm gonna have to either just get another one. . .or attempt to fix it myself. Getting the parts shouldn't be too hard. Getting the spring back in will be the nightmare part.
Any hints/leads to where I could get a repair kit for it?0 -

Maybe there's a schematic with the instruction sheet that came with it.... 0
