    For turkey's you haven't considered the 935?

Between the 11-87 and 930 fit would make or break the deal.

Turkey won't care what you shoot it with... which is more comfortable for you?

FWIW I think the perfect turkey gun is either a 22 magnum bolt gun (where legal) or a Savage 24 in 12/22mag or 20/22mag (again, if rifle use for turkey is legal where you are)

I am considering purchasing a new turkey gun and am down to two choices. A Mossberg 930 and Remington 11-87. I know the price difference is a consideration, but can anyone enlighten me as to which gun is the better value and is the better TURKEY GUN? Thanks.

    They're both solid guns.

I'm with llama here. The better turkey gun is whichever of the two you like better, and it really is that simple. Whichever feels/fits better. . .pick that one.

If you don't have a preference, then it doesn't make a difference. . .might as well just pick the cheaper one.

I also like llama's idea with the 22 Magnum, and will add the 22 Hornet, and 17 HMR as well, where it is legal.

As for the shotguns of which you mention, it would be the 11-87 for my choice. Even as much as Big Green screws things up, I would not sell another Mossberg of ANY type from my shop.

If I were going for my choice in a turkey shotgun, it would be the 870 EXPRESS, 21" barrel turkey gun I have with black synthetic stocks, and the Simms recoil pad, in the 3 " version, not 3 1/2". I have killed turkey's with it out to 65 yards using Winchester supreme, high velocity, 1 3/4 oz., of #6 shot. I have tried several aftermarket chokes in it also, and swear by the factory Xtra-full turkey choke.

VALMET model 412 or 512 combo model 222 under 12Ga. 3 inch or 243under 12Ga. 3 inch. with 2x7 scope. Just like ATT you can make local call or reach out and call LONG DISTANCE Good MO JO for that long beard that wants to hang up outside of shot-gun range[^] use solid jacketed bullets only[:0]

Regardless of which gun you use -- BE SURE to pattern the gun at various yardages and know where it shoots with the loads you are going to use.. Both guns are very good. Both companies have a good reputation. BUT YOU MUST KNOW YOUR GUN and its limitations ..
