m-1 bayonet
the blade of this bayonet has a ser#V1620xx and an F W+ within a circle. the W is directly under the F and larger than the F.a small + sign is to the right of both.the black plastic scabboard has UTZ stamped into it.the leather frog has H.wittwer worb 79 on the back.does anyone out there have info about this bayonet?the bayonet is mint and the scabboard and frog excellent.what is the approx.value?i beleive it fits an m-1 garand.

A real USGI M1 bayonet made for the M1 rifle would have different markings (& no serial number), & would sell in the $40-80 range.
You may have a repro bayonet made for one of our allies, but without photos, there's no way to be sure.

Garand bayonets have a green scabbard with a wire hook to attach it to the web belt. They didn't use a frog.
