Ruger Mk2 rear sight

I want to remove my rear sight,with the muzzle pointed away from me,do I tap it out from the right to the left,then tap in from the left to the right

  It is generally understood that dovetail sight slots are cut with a slight taper - wider on the right side. Therefore, Out = L to R,
  In = R to L. Whether all manufacturers follow this I do not know.
