Bulge Buster
I have about 500 rounds of 45acp that I loaded about a year ago. Recently went to the range kept having a problem with all of my 45's they would not go into full batery. A gentleman at the range said that I needed to use a factory crimp die with the Lee bulge buster and that this would take care of the problem. Thats fine for future reloading but what about the ones I already have loaded, Any way to solve this without pulling every single round and staring over????

It has been done but I really don't like trying to rework loaded ammo . Go to the reloading forum and look at top few post the 45ACP should have a case mouth of .469 +or- .002 after TAPER CRIMP. If you have oversize bullets "some 45 bullets are as big as .454" 45ACP bullets should be no larger then .452" Some brands of BRASS are thicker then others Remington and REM-UMC are thin as well as TZZ brass. FEDERAL is thicker . none of the round from head to mouth should be larger then .473 Another thing is you might have brass fired in a Glock[V] or brass that has been fired in gun with over-size chamber and your sizing die has not sized it back to spec. size some of the same cases and without powder or bullet seated in the sized case see if it will then chamber. First thing to do is see Where the loaded round is over size.
EDITBE CAREFUL when trying to push a loaded round into a sizing die It is prone to get stuck then the ONLY thing to do is THROW THE DIE and stuck round in the trash . THINK about it THIS IS A LOADED shell and a reloading sizing die will be a CHAMBER for the loaded round however very small diameter for the bullet to get out if something goes wrong KABOOOOOM[xx(][:0]0 -
An interim fix would be to take the decapping pin out of your sizing die and just run all of them through that die. That should set them back down to a usable diameter. [:)] 0 -

What is your cartridge overall length and what bullet weight/style and who is the manufacturer? What diameter are the bullets? Did you crimp these rounds? More info would help to figure out what is going on with your rounds.
Could be the cartridges are too long, case mouth flair causing a hang up, wrong bullet diameter, case not sized correctly just to name a few possibilities. Pictures would be helpful also.0 -

Have not measured the overall length of all which I am sure are different lengths.

Lee's seating die with a carbide ring in the base will bring oversize cases back in spec.
I don't know if they have them for 45ACP but if you have 500 rounds I'd check with them.
Do not use the resizer as the neck and bullet will go way undersize and probably jam up the die.
If you have a 45 Long Colt FL sizer you might be able to resize the bumps before the case mouth starts to resize. Dry lube wont get into the priming or powder.
The Lee die is the best solution.

The Lee resizer/crimp die is great. I use it for my 45ACP. If your getting a bulge it is usaully from your bullets being oversize or not enough lip bell before seating the bullet. Get the Lee crimping die, it solves alot of problems for about $20. 0 -

+1 for the Lee Taper.
The Lee Taper die was specifically made to work with loaded ammo. Otherwise, I totally agree with you. You do have to be careful while setting it up as you are dealing with loaded rounds. Read the instructions. Make sure you are not going to accidentally seat your bullets deeper than the seater has already pushed them down in.
The intent of that die isn't to "re-work" the ammo, rather "straighten" it as best they can.
I never usually have to use my .45 die. But I almost always have to use my .40 die to keep them feeding right.0 -
