mag problem?
i am kinda curious, on this one here
how would i got about fixing this or making it work better.
now i have a pair of mags that i had to some fitting to make work becuse they were for the post 1946 model of the Star model A.
now what happens is if i try to load them normaly i only get 2 rds in and the it jams up unless i load it via pushing each round down with something at the end of the round to load the next one in
now i can only get 7 in one and 6 in the other and there both 8 rds mags.
could it be more then just a length issue?
how would u go about fixing this?

This would depend on what model pistol you actually have. My suggestion is to obtain a correct magazine for the pistol you have. Unfortnately this may be difficult and pricey if you go this route. Sarco has some for the super modelo in 9mm largo. I think the are fairly expensive though. 0 -
I'd take it apart and see if there are crap at the bottom of the magazine. I wonder if there's treasure map? 0 -

Tuning a magazine is a lot like trueing a wheel. It looks easy when someone else does it. I'd practice on some cheap, easy to replace ones first. Hand made mandrels can be very handy if you do lots of the same type. I never had much luck welding them, but I'm not a welder. Over working them leads to cracks/failure. Many small taps as opposed to one big swat. Go slow, check often, and good luck. 0 -
Sounds like a bent spring or two. 0
