HOWA action
I am thinking about purchasing a howa barreled action in 7mm-08 and then having a custom stock made. I would have possibly $600 in this semi-custom rifle as I already have the scope I will use. Would'nt this be the best way to go since I will never have the $1,000 plus needed for a fully custom rifle. What do the experts think? As always thanks for your replies.

I have a howa action in 223. 22" bbl. I'm thinking on a re-barrel to 223, but longer, and heavier contour. Anything I should I know about the Howa action before I start? Gun shoots pretty well as is. THX HAWKSHAW 0 -
They use metric threads and some gunsmiths charge more to rebarrel. I'd be interested in your takeoff if you go ahead with the project. 0 -
just did one for a customer, like Hawk said they have metric threads. the original barrel will probably have the be 'relieved' for removal (a grove cut to thread depth just ahead of the action) as they were installed by retired sumo wrestlers (w/6' cheater bar). 0
