Military Bayonet NOT CUSTOM MADE & NOT BOWIE KNIFEEDITI suggest you do a SMART SEARCH on Bayonets and see if there is one like yours for sale here on gun broker, that the seller has identified as to maker. Barring that go to Mauser Central and ask the folks over there.

Thanks. Do you know the maker's mark?

I believe you have a parade dagger, not a bayonet. It's not configured for bayonet use.

Is there anyway to tell what country this is from?

It's resembles and is most probably, a German NCO's "Dress Bayonet". This was worn as part of of the Class A uniform during parades and official functions. Although it has the appearance of the standard military rifle bayonet it wasn't used as such, and most of them would even fit on the bayonet lug of the standard 98 K German Army rifle.

Are you certain it's a bayonet? I don't see a muzzle ring or a lug locking mechanism.
