Marlin 45acp camp carbine
Anybody know the twist rate on the 45acp rifle? ...I've done a search and I can't seem to find it?

Really? I would've thought for a .45 it would've been slower. Almost straight rifle. 0 -
That's what the Marlin reference source states. Slower or almost straight - sounds like a black powder charge? 0 -

1-16" is almost straight rifle. But, that is what it should be. It doesn't take near the twist to stabilize short fat bullets as it does long skinny, effective ones.0 -
Grab a cleaning rod and put a tight patch on it. Mark where you start, push it in the barrel, and mark when it makes a complete turn. Measure the marks, and you've got your twist rate. 0 -

BOY Wish I could, I don't have one of these weapons. I'm thinking of building a project 45acp rifle and I have been thinking what twist rate would be good for a 20" barrel. The Marlin 45 camp carbine is the only "factory" long barreled 45acp I know of, so I was wondering what it was? 1911 barrel is 1:16 ...but its only 5" long.0 -

The 45acp barrels that Rhineland used to sell as part of their kit to convert large/small ring mausers and enfields were just looong pistol barrel blanks from Shaw - 1:16 twist.
If you are looking for a 45 rifle project I'll suggest considering a DeLisle carbine (suppressed and sbr'd or not)0 -

Beretta Makes the CX4 Storm carbine in 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 ACP. They are actually pretty nice little rifles. They of course, take the magazines from the pistols they are counterpart to.
