PPSH-41 Build Project

[?]Could someone point me in the direction of a receiver (finished or unfinished) for a PPSH-41 build[?]

  Thanks Rufe, but believe it or not I've actually used Google, Yahoo, Bing, and a number of other search engines for variations of the string PPSH-41 receiver. I was hoping for some actual information from a machinist, dealer, or smith that might not be able to be found so easily on the Internet.
  
  To date I have only found information at Hellbox Armory and Cold Steel Solutions though Internet research. Hellbox Armory
  produces receiver repair sections and Cold Steel Solutions produces a thinner than the original "80% receiver."
  
  So, of anyone has any information that might not be on the Internet, or that I may have accidentally overlooked that you could provide, I thank you in advance. [:)]

  Thanks Neal. I read that earlier today. From what I've read about complications and reliability on semi-auto build designs for this model, this probably explains the lack of information. Hoping there's someone out there who believes in a better mouse trap.

  I have not researched this one bit and all I am offering is possible places for you to look for information, but here goes:
  
  Try looking through the pages of The Shotgun News. The personal classifieds there have sunk a long way over the years, but check them out along with the warehouse commercial adds. There is an outfit that advertises there all the time you may be able to find on the Internet, too. Their name is SARCO and they have an awful lot of stuff that is not in their TSN adds, so you might give them a call and ask.

  If you have not checked the GB Auctions, do that and if nothing place a wanted query in the GB Classified Forum.
  
  Be creative regarding your Internet search strings. Try PPSH Build or Building PPSH or assemble PPSH, PPSH parts kit, PPSH parts, etc. Try your search strings with and without quotation marks.

  You'll find that the commercially available RADOM PPS43s are cheaper, easier to find, and work better than a "reinvention of the wheel" required for the 41.
  
  Making open bolt MGs into closed bolt semis is a real PITA. Most of them require more work than can be commercially viable. Wise-Lite has had 3 or 4 generations of PPSH41 with varying degrees of actual success.

  Definitely cheaper. The build is for my grandfather who is a Marine and Korean War vet. He's 82 and wants one just like he used to see when he was serving. Got him a Radom PPS43 and was hoping to get out of this and sell the kit.
  
  I'd been looking into these for several years and had hoped that someone might have come along with something like they did with the PPS43. May be time to put the kit up for bidding.
