Need help to ID Rimfire Caliber

I have a very old Hopkins & Allen spur trigger revolver marked XL no 2. It is a little pocket piece made in the 1870's or 1880's but I cannot determine the caliber. It is definitely rimfire & I have taken the following measurements: Cylinder length .81", bore .2775" & cylinder bore of .296". I cannot find any info on a caliber between .25 RF & .30RF.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Going through "Cartridges of the World", the only cartridge that would work in that short of cylinder is the .25 Short. It loaded overall length is given as .780.

  I think it's a .30 Short rimfire: The base diameter of .30rf was .292 which works well with his chamber measurement of .296, and overall length of .822 is only .012 more than the cylinder length he lists, and his .81 would not include the rim thickness.
