I was wanting to know about the vulcan 50 bmg's does any one have one and how good are they? I know a barrett, armalite or mcmillian would be the best. this wouldn't be shot on a daily basis, maybe something for the weekends. Are they accurate? and very dependable, just looking for the pro's and con's 0 -
The Serbu BFG-50 is supposedly very good, and at $2200 for the entry level one, its probably one of the lowest cost .50 BMG guns on the market. I think this is probably the "most recommended" one near your price range.
If you already have an AR-15 to serve as your "lower" you can get a Bohica dedicated .50BMG upper for it for as little as $1300:

If you don't already have an AR-15 lower, you could buy or build one for under $300 (maybe well under, depending on your build).
This AR-15 upper unit from Safety Harbor Arms is similar, and runs about $1500:

The same company makes an entire rifle for about $2000, though I don't know how it stacks up to the Serbu:

Thanks
I do have an AR so I am going to try for the upper.
Thanks for the info.0 -
I know it is a few bucks more then you listed but IMHO the Armalite AR-50 is the best .50 on quality vs price. There are a few on the auction side here.
They come in right about $2500.0 -
I have the Safety Harbor 22" .50 cal upper. It uses a 5 rd detachable magazine, works great, a good quality unit. 0
