cz52
I have just purchased a surplus CZ52 pistol and it has no markings on it other than two matching serial numbers and the import stamp. The serial number is on the left side of the frame and the other on the barrel with a "T" circled (Tula?). The finish is gray. All the other CZ's I have seen have many more markings as well as two swords crossed with two digits in front to designate its year of production on the righthand side of the frame. Mine has nothing on the righthand side. Can anyone give me information on the pistol I have received?

Just got one of these in on C&R. Anyone know where I can download or view instructions on tear down & cleaning?

It will work with 9mm. I put a 9mm barrel in one of my CZ52s. I had to bend the lips a little. I don't know of a specific 9mm mag for these. 0 -
The 9mm barrel was added to the outfit after it was imported to the States. The Czechs military didn't use them. The pistol you bought appears to be in really fine condition. Long as it works OK and your happy with it, that's all that matters.
Don't dry fire the pistol. The original Czech firing pins are fragile and are notorious for breaking, although their are U.S. made replacement FP's on the market now, if yours goes south. Also the manual safeties on the 52's have a bad rep, always point the muzzle at the ground when disengaging the safety.0 -
If your 9mm barrel has a CIRCLED T visible on the barrel hood - it was fitted at the CZ factory and is original CZ production. If not, it is an aftermarket. 0 -
So far, she's a stone fox.
In '02, I gave USD $200 for an importer-refinished & force-matched example of this warhorse pistol. I then scored one of the last used Federal Arms Corp 9x19mm barrel on fleabay for another USD $50 (or so).
It's a fine shooter. Pls just note the caveats above & all should be well w/ your new 52. If you do happen to shoot any form of the native 7.62x25mm Combloc ammo in low-light conditions, pls be advised to wear some sunglasses - as it sports an impressive muzzle blast.0 -

Ans: a fine looking rig.
For example, my rig has been refinished & force-match serial numbered on the slide. Orig slide serial# was removed by hideous grinding (looks like the 'work' was performed by a blind monkey). She does shoot just fine, but looks like all hell ....0
