Winchester 70 .270WSM Ultimate Shadow
I know nothing about this caliber and have never owned a model 70. I know a guy that has one for sale and sounds like a deal that I just can't pass up. The gun has a 4.5-14 x 40 Nikon Buckmaster scope, soft case and a box of ammo. He wants $400 for everything.
What does everyone think? Should I jump on it?

If you have a use for it yes, it is a good deal. I like the 270 WSM, bought one for my son. Does everything that I could want for him, has killed several deer with it and it shoots 130 and 140gr bullets very well with good velocity.
Can't commit on the rifle, never owned a model 70 myself. But there are enough Winchesters out there that they can't be bad. My son's rifle is a Savage. My son would hunt anything but big bear with that caliber. I would to if I didn't own a 7mm.0 -
That is especially a good deal if that is a stainless rifle. If it is not stainless, it is still ok.
That rifle might need some TLC to turn it into a real good shooter. Could be why the gent is getting rid of it.

Just keep the ammo stored seperately, and locked up from all your guns...[:0][:0][:D][:D][:D][:0][:0]
Or if you want to make her really mad, tell her that you got it for her for her birthday...my late father did that once...0 -
