    Thanks Bert. I was going to list it for sale but the bottom has dropped out of the Winchester 94 market, I see tons of them for sale and ones like mine are only selling for $300 to $400 dollars. During the craze, these were selling for over $600!

    The "Craze" was destined to be short lived, especially for the post-1963 made guns.

    Realistically, the 1964 - 1978 vintage Model 94s are not $300 - $400 guns (unless they are NIB). Most of them are worth <$250.

    The fact that Winchester and the U.S. Repeatings Arms Co. manufactured 4+ million of them in the January 1964 - March 2006 time frame is one of the reasons they are not worth much.

    Why don't you sell it, buy a nice pre-64 model, and give that to him? It will be a much better investment for the future.
