does anyone know the size of the hole or the screw for a tang peep sight on the remington 81s

  Encyclopedia of Modern Firearms by Brownell lists a Tang Screw for the model 81. The pitch and gauge is listed as 2-56. It has a part number of 113. This may or may not be the screw you inquired about but maybe this will be a start. FWIW
