Front bead for Fox Sterlingworth
Yesterday, I discovered that the front bead had fallen off my 12 guage Fox Sterlingworth while shooting trap. We hunted around for it with no luck. Seeing that vacant hole on the end of the barrels is not only unattractive, it also detracts from its potential resale value. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get a replacement?

call brownells ask for tech dept. They will tell you what size you need and also sell them. 0 -
My FIL's took a 5-50 bead.
But it is a 50 year old gun, who knows where it's been.0 -

I'd go to a local jewelry supply joint and buy me a round wire of Sterling silver and thread it to fit the barrel hole. Shape the bead on the round wire and get shiney. I suppose you could go pimp by doing it out of gold. Or set a gem as the bead. Small cabochon rubies are pretty cheap. 0 -
What you realy need to do the job right is a piece of ivory. It looks correct and does not reflect light. (you don't want "shine" on a front sight) 0 -

I say whaaa? All those plastic light gathering straws does what it does shine. Like an electronic red dot number. Besides it's a shot gun. And really not like you'll be beading in to the sun. Also cabochon is like a marble and not faseted to get your bling on.0 -
