    My FIL's took a 5-50 bead.
But it is a 50 year old gun, who knows where it's been.

I'd go to a local jewelry supply joint and buy me a round wire of Sterling silver and thread it to fit the barrel hole. Shape the bead on the round wire and get shiney. I suppose you could go pimp by doing it out of gold. Or set a gem as the bead. Small cabochon rubies are pretty cheap.

What you realy need to do the job right is a piece of ivory. It looks correct and does not reflect light. (you don't want "shine" on a front sight)

I say whaaa? All those plastic light gathering straws does what it does shine. Like an electronic red dot number. Besides it's a shot gun. And really not like you'll be beading in to the sun. Also cabochon is like a marble and not faseted to get your bling on.
