Wisconsin Senate has passed concealed carry..
Another right which is presumed to be a privilege, but a step in the right direction.
The Wisconsin Senate has passed a bill that would allow concealed weapons in most public places.
All 19 Senate Republicans voted for the bill Tuesday, along with six Democrats. Eight other Democrats opposed it.
The bill would make Wisconsin the 49th state to legalize carrying hidden guns. Those who want to carry the weapons would have to obtain a permit.
Republican Gov. Scott Walker backs the bill. Before it would get to him, it must also pass the Assembly. That could happen later in the week.
The bill allows concealed weapons except in places such as police stations, courthouses and Milwaukee's Summerfest music festival.
Republicans say the bill will allow people to defend themselves. Democrats say the fact that exemptions were needed proves how inherently unsafe the measure is.

If it wasn't for that one word. [:(]0 -
Don't like having to have a permit, either but it's better than what we've had to deal with.
Now I'm waiting to see if I'll have to have "training" or be exempt for having carried a gun for 20 years of military service. Seems stupid to have some local rumdum who has never had to lock & load on another human being but has been certified by the state "train" me.0 -
Maybe if Wisconsin passes Illinois will follow. 0 -

That would require an act of God. Illinois is Democrat controlled and ran now for over 40 years. Bankrupt in many ways.
"permit" God giveth and God taketh away!0 -
So.... Did ther NRA get their grubby paws on this legislation too, and require the people to take an "approved" training coarse? 0 -
The Wisconsin Assembly passed concealed carry last night and Governor Walker says he will sign it. It will go into effect in either October or November.
Haven't seen the actual legislation yet so don't know if it will exempt veterans or retired cops from the training requirement, as was proposed.
The Leftists are having a hissy fit, predicting blood running in the streets. Madison Mayor Paul Soglin, former '60's hippie radical and anti-war activist, is proposing a city ordinance requiring permission for a CCW permit holder to carry a weapon into each and any private or public building in Madison. So, that's the first court case in the works.
If you want to see the worst possible scenario of a radical Leftist government; Marxist to the core, just look at Madison, Wisconsin and Dane County, Wisconsin. Damn place is the frozen version of Kalifornia0 -
Update!
Just called my state senator's office. Veterans and retired police officers WILL NOT be required to take additional training to acquire a concealed carry permit. Finally, some common sense!0 -
Not sure why this would be exciting news ..... California has allowed concealed weapons permits for years. Of course, it isn't good from county to county or city to city in California, and you probably need to be a big name somebody or another in order to qualify for a permit in the first place. LA rapper's an Rosie O'Donnell would probably qualify ....... other's need not apply.
[;)]
Hey, what's with NYC this morning? Understand that some Yokel walked into a pharmacy and shot a bunch of people while stealing a bunch of drugs. That's not permitted in NYC is it? On the bright side, another pharmacy employee is armed with a scissor's with points on it and a baseball bat in case the armed suspect tries to rob them too.
[:(]
How pathetic it must be to use a scissor's against a criminal with a handgun. There ought to be a law ....... and probably will against having a scissor's with a point on it.

Application should be no problem here, now. Application is through the Wisconsin Department of Justice, headed by Attorney General J.B. Van Holland, a pro-gun conservative who has defended the 2nd Amendment against the likes of Jim Doyle. 0 -
