Traditions Mini Cannon
Someone gave me a mini cannon that was not cleaned at last firing. The bore is rusted however I did get out all of the loose rust. The flash hole is also a little rusty but I did manage to clean it out. Are these safe to shoot.....or should I just use it as a display ?

Long as you BP, or modern low pressure equivalent like Pyrodex.0 -
I say mount it on the front of your fishing boat and take to the high seas (or your local fishing hole). Then blow any interlopers trying to steal your good fishing spot out of the water!
"Aim for their mast Mr. Hawkins!! Aim for their mast!!"
Yeah, use black powder ONLY or a modern black powder substitute. You can use it as a noisemaker by simply loading wads instead of slugs. Check out Dixie Gun works for bp cannon info (on the web and they have a neat catalog for $5.00).
Also web search this and find all kinds of helpful stuff regarding care, use and firing of these cannons.0
