mauser scopes?

A while back I took a rifle in on trade. Mounted on it was a variable 3x9. on the adjuster cover it had mauser's logo. Does anyone have any knowledge as to when it was made and if mauser really made it? It resembled a modern, brand new out of the box scope. Sorry but no pics available as I am out of town at the moment. Thanks in advance to all.
