45 acp
Another dumb question.
When boar hunting is a 45acp of any value as a backup. If I cannot find commercial ammo that is adaquate, I am thinking of trading a for either a 357 or 44 mag revolver.
Even the 357 is a little on the light side?

I had both and I just don't shoot a glock well. ( I keep trying) Both my sig 220's are flawless amazing shooters. One guys opinion...0 -
I have owned all three - G21, HK USP 45, and Sig 220 Da. I prefered the G21 over the other 2.
With the Glock you have the same trigger pull each and every time you pull the trigger.
What I didn't like about the HK pistol was the mag release, it rested on my middle finger and made mag releases difficult (IMHO)
My Sig was ok but not "the next best thing since sliced bread" as I had always read. Trigger seemed springy sprongy to me.
Downside for me on the Glock was the large chunky frame. I'm 6'4 and have average size hands. The grip was large in my hands.
All three of them have been traded off for other pistols and in a round about way - 1911's.
My next large polymer 45 acp will be a Sprindfield XD 45 Service with the ambi- frame mounted safety.
Seems like the XD has everthing the Glock lacks - namely slim grip, external frame mounted, and grip safeties.

I've owned all three. My preference is the HK USP compact.
I found the Glock 21 too big for my hand.
Liked the Sig a lot, just nedded the short trigger in it.0 -
I have carried the Glock 21 and the Sig P220 at work. Although the Sig is a fine gun I didn't care for the heavy double action on the first shot and the mag capacity when compared to the G 21. Also, the Sig would begin to show rust after 1 shift working on a motor next to the Pacific Ocean. The Glocks tenifer finish is impervious to the salt air. 0 -
I have used all three and each has its strengths and weaknesses. The two large-cap pistols are more difficult for the smaller hands to grasp comfortably. The P220 has a slimmer profile at the expense of mag capacity. I like the H&K best for my needs and size. The V-1 safety on mine lets me carry cocked and locked if I want as well as allowing safe decocking. It accepts any load offered it, except the PMC semi-wadcutter. It all comes down to the test of what best fits each shooter. 0 -
Not really a comparison but I was disappointed with the Sig Sauer P250. My son has one, likes it. I bought one, one of the worst triggers I have felt, shot up a box of .45ACP got a huge welt almost like a blood blister about where a 1911 can bite. Decided it's not the gun for me. Now my son has two. 0 -
Take a look at the Sig 220 Elite,has nite sights,short reset trigger(SRT).Compact or full size.I just bought mine and have only ran a few mags through it,but its becoming one of my favorite 45's.Had the Glock 21 liked it but just didn't shoot it well.Agree with Drobs on the HK. For me its the Sig Elite. 0
