RUGER 44 CARBINE

I have a chance to get a ruger 44 carbine on a trade with a serial #5740 I have not seen the gun yet but I'm wondering how much would this gun be worth as I don't need it and would probably sell it and what I trading for it is worth $550 in elctronics that the other party wants.

    Neither the 1963, 1964 nor 1965 Gun Digest lists a delux or checkered stock option being available on the Ruger .44. The checkering pattern and quality does not resemble the checkering on the early Model 77 Rugers. I would call it aftermarket checkering. FWIW

    Great grain in the butt stock But I believe after-market checkering
    Ruger did have a finger groove stock and an Internation full length stock. The pistol grip looks fairly good but forearm looks like a made-up pattern

    $300-450 for a shooter ... Think this one would be fair at 400ish

    Ruger did make a delux stock late in production but yours does look like after market checkering. Prices on standard carbines have dropped a little and depending on where you live I would say in the 400 to 500.00 range.

    The 44 carbine deluxe stock had the same pattern as the 10/22 (IIRC). While the pistol grip area on this one looks nice, the checkering on the front isn't the standard ...

    $50 to ship a rifle? Thats a little steep. That would probably cost no more than $20 in actual postal fees.

    I tend to agree, even for a double border row, that is the work of an apprentice. Not bad, but pretty simple, with some visable errors. I think $350-400ish is a good deal. The Bushnel scope doesn't add much in value.

    Does anyone pick your auctions apart on the forums? Would you like people to start? I didn't think so...so afford other's the same freedom.

    Hey, the poster asked a question about an auction, I certainly think I am within my rights to offer an opinion..after all this is a DISCUSSION forum, is it not, where people offer opinions and share ideas???
