That is the high end model with the beaver-tail for-end. Certainly a beautiful gun. It looks custom. I have a older flues model from gramps circa 1918. All it has is a simple dog scene on the receiver. 0 -
If I was forced to place a bet I would say NO WAY is that factory wood or engraving. Very nice gun and well worth $1500.00 but not factory. YMMV 0 -
The checkering on the pistol grip looks identical to a photo of a Ithica #4 shotgun in the 1942 Shooter's Bible. The engraving on the subject shotgun has some features that are identical to the Ithica #4 and some features that are similar. 0 -

Definently factory engraving the metal has been polished or something to be that shiny the wood is definently not original. The seller states full and modified and the barrel stamping indicates full and full. The forend wood could be original but I do not see the serial number on the wood in the picture but it is cut off. I think it is a decent gun but it will have short chambers (if not lengthend) and some say the Flues have a weak frame so some low pressure loads should be in order. 0 -
I agree with a couple other's that it is factory work. Being a grade 4, would be at, or near the top of the line, and look at the wood and checkering to match. Yes that is factory IMHO.

The 'Double Gun Journal' just had an artical on Ithaca's master engraver, Bill McGraw, from that time period with several pix's of his work. 0
