Barrel question on a Winchester
I have a winchester serial # 1362168 that has on the top of the barrel under the handguard a punch mark D6535448 48 A166A and a punch mark and on the rod side has S-A-3-52. Can anyone tell me abut this? thanks

WELL, from the VERY limited info, I'd say you have a m-1 'Garand' rifle, rebuilt in 1952 with a springfield barrel 0 -
The D6535488 is the drawing number, followed by a heat lot number, followed by a proof punch mark. The S-A indicates the barrel was made by the Springfield Armory, & 3-52 is a March 1952 manufacture date.
The barrel was installed on your rifle in March 1952, or any time thereafter.

And the rifle (receiver) was made sometime in 1943. 0
