Weatherby mark v ????????

I am trying to figure out what model my rifle is...its a 257 weatherby mark V...my grandfather gave it to me for my birthday...he said he bought it in 1959...the serial on it is 300055a from what i can tell it is either a mark v deluxe or a mark v ultramark i know it is a mark v just not sure which one i can try to get some pics on if that helps

  My hats off to your grandfather. He is a real swell guy for that type of gift. I hope you get the chance to use it with him.
  
  That rifle has to be a Mark V Deluxe, as the Ultra was not offered untill 2007. The craftsmanship back then, was far better than it is now days, and therefor, your Delux, is most likely better than today's Ultramark.
  
  I hope someday in the way off future, you get to pass it on to your grandson.

  I too have a weatherby that was my grandfathers. The factory letter I have shows that it was built in 1958 (similar to yours.) Mine has a FN action and reads "Made in Germany".
  
  My rifle is in .378 -- it will knock your fillings loose with the recoil. But it is effective - Grandpa shot a couple of Kodiak bears with it in '59 or '60.
