8X60S
I have a mauser rifle, 8X57, that I am thinking about having it rechambered to 8X60S. I need a recommendation for somebody to do this. Thanks

Sorry this is more of a question then an answer to yours. WHY. In My opinion you would have little to gain and much to lose. 8X57 can be handloaded to darn near the same velocity. as the 8X60 and ammo will most likely be available for the 8X57 in 100 times the places as a 8X60. Sorry again for not answering your question .If this is an original rifle that is or may become a Vintage collector grade firearm you will ruin any collector value when you rechamber it. 0 -
Might as well go the 8mm-06 route if your dead set on rechambering it.
Only problem is that 8mm-06 was never a Sammi standard cartridge. Your either going to have the guy who rechambers it make you the dies. Or fireform a couple of cases to have RCBS make them. Either way it going to be pricey.0 -

As pointed out, be sure this is not a collectible Mauser. Most are not and are categorized as shooters.
There is s a distinct difference between the 4 different loadings for the 8x60S than the comparison given. There is the Magnum Bombe which is extremely potent. Besides, reloading will answer that comparison favorably as well.
As far as the 8mm-06 is concerned, it's probably less expensive to reload for this cartridge than the 8x60S. Midway and several other suppliers have RCBS and Hornady dies in stock and ready to ship.
