M39 Carcano sling/cleaning rod
I recently acquired an exceptional M-38 Carcano and I'd like to fit the carbine with the correct period sling and cleaning rod accessory. Can anyone advise as to the correct sling and cleaning rod? Any suggestions where I can purchase them? Much appreciated. Tommy

Tommy, You will just have to search the auction sites and hope something comes up. You might post your need in the "wanted" section. I have found several items I needed by posting there. Best, Tom
Tommy, I own 5 or 6 Carcano's but sadly, I have not done much research on them. There will probably be a Carcano forum if you look for one and they can probably answer all your questions.
Luckily, I have found several of the folding bayonets and also the under folding spike. They are getting hard to find and not cheap. Tom0 -
The 38 will have a 3 piece segmented cleaning rod that goes in the butt trap. 0 -

Tom: Thanks for the advise as I placed an avertisement last night. Do you know the proper sling for the M-38? Length, color, markings, etc. There are a number of green leather slings around, some with the Finish SA stamp. Do you have any idea if the slings are WW II or post-war? My thanks once again. The book " The Carcano, Italy's Military Rifle" by Richard Hobbs will answer your questions. Also Google "Carcano" and you'll find a wealth of information 0
