Winchester model 1904 22 short and long.
Hi I have a very old 22 caliber here and I have misplaced a simple part, was wondering can anyone tell me where I can get this item, its the little nut I guess i can say that keeps the barrel on the stock, it slides in a grove on the barrel. And a short bolt goes through the stock and into the nut that in a grove on the barrel. I hope I have explained it clearly, very much appricated if anyone can help.

newfielander,
Hello, and welcome to the forums here on Gunbroker.com. You ARE in the right place.
I have checked over at Numerich Gunparts, and they do not have one, but it shouldn't be to hard to make one. I am almost certain that the dovetail slot that fits into will also take a sight blank...which can be drilled and tapped for your screw.

Thanks there tsr1965, I understand what you mean by making one but the thread of the bolt seems to be very hard to match, wish I knew the size and style, i can check my tap and dies see if i can find a match i guess. What do ya mean by a sight blank?
Thanks Newfielander.0 -
Take the stock bolt to a machine shop or good hardware store and see if they have a nut with the right threads. If so, it will likely be wide enough to file edges at an angle to fit the barrel dovetail. 0 -
