LeRoy Merz Winchesters

Has anyone (e.g. Bert?) had experience buying a Winchester from LeRoy Merz? Are the rifles accurately described and are prices reasonable/appropriate for the condition of the firearms? Is this a good outfit to do business with? Thank you.

  I personally have not yet bought a Winchester from Leroy. That said, he is a nice guy (we are fellow WACA Board of Director members), and he definitely has some very nice guns in his collection/inventory. The descriptions in his catalog are usually right on the money.

  I have not dealt with LeRoy recently, mostly because my interests have changed from the type of arms he carries. However, in the early-mid 1990's I did buy/trade with him about 3 or 4 times, with each transaction pleasant and his descriptions accurate.

  I've made 2 excellent purchase with LeRoy, met him once at the Baltimore show. He's one of the good guys to deal with, honest and truthful about his guns, willing to negotiate in most cases.
