S&W "tool" question
What kind of tool am I?
Sorry! Couldn't resist.
I don't recognize a "tool" that came in my new S&W .45acp revolver.
It isn't covered in the owner's booklet nor can I figure out what it is for.
It is a small, black, flat piece of tool steel, about 2" long and curves at one end with two small, flat ears extending from the sides of the curved part. Not unlike some kind of spoon.
I figured I'd try asking here with a simple description rather than going to the trouble of attaching a photo because, surely, it must be familiar to other S&W shooters.
Thank you all,
reddhawk, out.

sounds like a loading unloading tool for the 1/2 and full moon clips
Search ebay for a pic, there is one with a screwdriver handle and i haven't used that kind.0 -
Does the revolver have black rubber type grips with no screw to remove them?? If it does, it is a tool to remove them without damaging them. My 340sc came with a similar tool. 0 -
MMMarvis,
That was it!!!
It is indeed, "a blued steel case removal tool to easily remove empty cases without damage to the cases, clips, or your hands".
Found it just where you said, on EBAY.com.
I'm thanking you so much.
Thanks to all.0 -

I have a 1917 S&W It Didn't come with one.
If i had waited a few more years Ouch I would have gotten the screwdriver handle one. But i doubt it really works better.
Get both full and 1/2 Moon clips, both are handy.
double Med speed loader pouches hold 4 full moons.0
