Wondering if it's ok to dry fire a S&W Bodyguard on an empty cylinder?

Get the metal snap caps from Brownells, you can dry fire to your hearts content.

I believe Smith does (or at least used to) say in its product manuals that limited dry fire was OK for its centerfire pistols.

I've dry fired many Smith revolvers many times, and never had an issue. So I don't think you'll have a problem with any "normal" amount of dry-firing.

Now, if you're intent on sitting there for hours dry-firing hundreds or thousands of times, a $15 set of snap caps is not a bad investment, if only for peace of mind.
