German custom rifle
I have a German custom made rifle , which has been in our family over 50 years. The makers are E Arzt & Weilheim Obby, it is a 7mm very beautiful stock & engraved barrel. Does anyone know of these gunsmiths or their guns? How might I find more info on this rifle?

There were literally hundreds of one-man gunsmith operations during certain decades in Germany. Sometimes there's some information, other times there isn't.
The best way to start a search such as this is to take some sharp, properly lit photographs and post them for us to use to help with your questions. There is a 'Sticky' above this titled 'Posting Photographs' which will help with any questions about the process. If you have problems or have other questions, post again or e-mail me.
Picture should include photos of the bottom of the barreled action out of the stock because that's where we see the proof marks. Close-ups of the proof marks help tell the story. We also need to see side views and top views of the action and any writing on the barrel.

The makers are "E Arzt & Weilheim Obby," Is this the way the rifle is marked, if so very unusual. Is there a name of a town on the rifle?
Normally German firearms are marked with the makers name and town. could it be marked "E. Arzt in Weilheim Obby"?0 -
