browning pump 22lr ?
i received this gun from my uncle .... he is the org. owner, and suffers from dementia . he can't remember anything about it, but maybe you guys can help me out
gun is at least a 98 % on blue, and only has two small nics on the forearm ! inside the chamber looks like it has never been fired, and the barrel the same . serial # 0223rr176... i would like to figure out its approx. worth , and build date-- i don't plan on selling it , i just don't know if i should use it, or store it for my grandson
thanks.......steven

Your Browning rifle is the Model BPR 22, they began selling them in 1977. Yours date to 1977, first year of production, and it has a very low serial number. It appears to me to be the 223 BPR made, that first year. They were never popular, so Browning quit selling them in the early 80's. Because of this and the popularity of Browning guns with collectors, perhaps it would be best to put it away in storage as it's future value would probably increase. This would be because of the short production run, and very low first year of production serial number. 0 -
its definitely a gun you want take good care of but, if its not in perfect condition there's no reason not to shoot it, its a very fun little gun.
As for value blue book says $315 but i would say its probably worth at least a little more.0 -
