ithaca 37 deerslayer,Sid Bell grip cap

I am thinking of buying a ithaca 37 ,I noticed some have a red grip cap with a deer ,pheasant etc on them .Can you give me more info other than being by Sid Bell,such as when they manufactured,how many or if they are more collectible, or where I could find out this info myself ? Thanx Gordon
