Relaoding plated .40 questions!
I'm looking at reloading .40 S&W with 165 gr. plated bullets, I've read that you should load to cast bullet specs but then have found some info that contradicts this. I'd like to use HS-6, any thoughts or experience? Good or bad?

I use lead bullet data for them. Have had no problems. 0 -
I have used 6.6 grains of unique with the 165 gr plated, makes a good medium/mild target load. Have about 1000 of them loaded up.....[;)] 0 -
I've been using 5.2 grains of 700X with Berry's 165 plated flat nose. It has worked fine in my Sigs and myy H&K USP. 0 -
I use 4.8 gr of Titegroup with Berry's plated 165s and have been real happy with 'em. 0 -
I appreciate the help. Thanks. I'm looking at using Berry's 165gr too. 0 -
I've used both 180 and 155 grain Rainer bullets in my 40. I use jacketed data but have never exceeded mid loads.
Have worked well, will probably use Berry's at some point.
Just for reference. I use the same powder charge of Power Pistol with the 180 gr Hornady XTP and the Rainer 155. (normally the lighter takes more powder.)0
