45 ACP, XD vs. XDm, Springfield Armory
I want an XDm in 45 (traded my first for BIG chainsaw).
I also want a conversion kit for the 45 Rowland. The Rowland
Kits are only available for the 5 inch XD.
Is there that much difference between the XD & XDm?
I understand the Rowland operating pressures pose some risk
to me & the XD. Elaborate, I am listening.
My question is: what is the difficulty, being experienced
at Rowland, in bringing the XDm Kit to market?
Thank you! All!

Without getting into all the details about OTHER differences, barrel specs for XD and XDM are different, and the barrels do not interchange.
If you want to know why Johnny Rowland hasn't come out with a .460 kit for the XDm, you can ask him yourself:

I suspect its simply a question of limited demand. There are conversion kits available for the ordinary XD, Smith M&P, and Glock, and I'd imagine if those polymer frame guns are strong enough to handle a .460, there should be no reason the XDM isn't.
Some summary on an ordinary Springfield XD conversion here:
