Value of Rem. 700 30-06 ADL from 1962

Remington has confirmed the rifle to be from 1962. There is no serial number on it but it has a number 4589 stamped on the barrel near the magazine. Everything is original and has some minor pitting on the barrel. It has an adjustable peep sight that looks like a Williams brand.

I'm also going to bring it to a gunsmith to have it cleaned up. It hasn't been fired in 30 years but the bolt action, trigger, safety and magazine spring seems fine. Anything I should be warned about before bringing it in to be cleaned and test fired?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Early 700 in that serial number range would likely to be of interest to a collector of Remington rifles, except the pitting is usually a deal killer, depending how bad it is.
  
  If the pitting is extensive, it would grade out as a inexpensive shooter/hunting rifle. You can get a ballpark on the value from what 700's are going for on the auctions, 30-06 is probably one of the most common calibers that 700's are found in.
