1894 Winchester #6869, worth restoring ?

    Where is the wood? Dit it burn totally off? IF not, to what degree is it burnt? I would be skeptical, and it is a shame, but it might not be worth restoring, as it could be very unsafe to shoot now.

    Wood was to far gone, that serial # come up 1894, shame..prolly sell it for parts...

    just to note, if the springs are 'good' so is the rifle. if the stocks were just 'toasted' or charred on the outside it is worth rebuilding.

    I would rebuild it too. The 38-55, first year production, octagon barrel and tang sight make it very attractive.

    That is a late second year production. The first year Model 1894s ended at serial number 1674.
