Ruger 22/45 & Magazine Disconnector
Anyone had experience removing the magazine disconnector and disconnector spring?
Easy enough to do, obviously, but other than the "don't mess with it, you'll void warranties" argument, are there any reasons not to? Things that don't fit right if those parts are gone or functional difficulties?
Can you cut off the right and left "arms" and leave the center as a spacer between the hammer and disconnector, or is that even necessary?
Or,
Is this just a flat out no good idea?

Is it possible that your referring to the loaded chamber indicator on the new Mark 3's?
EDIT #1, It's more commonly known as the magazine safety. Lot of modern guns have been fitted with them, because the manufacturers are afraid of legal liability law suites from the bottom feeding lawyers.0 -

No. That doesn't really bother me.
Just realized today when I tried to load a single round without a magazine that I had a "magazine disconnector". Don't ever expect to be without a mag. but I was brought up to expect the unexpected, and the idea of a gun I can't shoot in an emergency because I had no mag. , bothers me.0
