What is good price for Mauser C96 pistol?
Is the Mauser C96 a hard fire arm to come accross. I have heard of one here in Peru without a trigger. In such a damaged condition what would one pay in the US?

Just looking around I have seen one on sale for 40,000 dollars . This seems an extremely high price. Is this guy deluded or are such pistols in good condition highly valuable today?. I love the look of this gun. Would there be anybody that could repair such a pistol if it lacked a trigger for example. I have still not actually seen the gun that this guy claims to have.. 0 -
There must be at least twenty five variations of that particular pistol (and I am being conservative in my estimate). This is like telling us that you found an "Old Ford" down in Peru without s starter motor and asking how much it is worth here in the States. I'll have to be Mr Mean Guy again and tell you that you need to be more specific. How about at least telling us it's condition?
$40,000 is at the extreme upper end of the collector range for mint examples of something like a 20 Shot Conehammer with milled panels and matching stock.0 -
Thank you Mark. It is great to come across guys that actually have some good knowledge because I am very new to all of this. I need to get more informed quickly, get some books etc. It is a little difficult here in Peru. If I get more info on this Mauser I will drop you a line. Thanks again 0 -
coltrane..post photos on this forum when you get to look at the gun. In-focus closeups of the stampings, as well as overall shots would be nice. Tell us the bore condition, also!
Photo instructions are on the top permanent sticky. Best, Joe0
